Cherries are a flavor that not many dislike. A cherry is a fruit that is the topping on any treat and without it, the delight is not the same. Perhaps there is nothing that a sweet lover loves more than a Maraschino cherry. A Maraschino cherry is a cherry that has been preserved and sweetened. Made from the Royal Ann, Rainier or gold varieties, they are soaked in a sugar suspension that lends to its purely sweetened flavor. Initially produced for the elite of society, it is now everyone's favorite from adults to children, as the topping on your favorite ice cream sundae. Most importantly when placed into your mixed drink you'll feel like a kid in a candy store.

Cherries Find Their Place In Every Drink Genre

Cherries are good with just about every spirit and have such a wide array of mixes. Nothing can taste better than a good old fashioned cherry coke, which is easily reproduced by mixing cherry infused vodka with coke. Be careful, it is hard to believe that you are actually drinking alcohol, that is until the day after you partake. Whether you add cherries to your cosmopolitans, martinis, or hard alcohol mixed drinks, it makes the perfect addition to just about any mixture of tastes. Some of the greatest cocktails would not exist without them.
